Other Mac OS X related tips

To install two different language versions of OpenOffice.org on the same MacBook Pro, I did the following. I was installing the Japanese and English version.

• Download and install the Japanese version.
• Run the Japanese OpenOffice.org for the first time.
• Exit OpenOffice.org.*
• Rename the OpenOffice.org app:

  $ cd /Applications/ $ mv OpenOffice.org.app "OpenOffice.org ja-JP.app"

• Download and install the English version.
• Run the English OpenOffice.org for the first time.
• Exit OpenOffice.org.*
• Rename the OpenOffice.org app:

  $ cd /Applications/ $ mv OpenOffice.org.app "OpenOffice.org en-US.app"

Now you have two OpenOffice.org links in Applications and both can be started and run independently.
